The Conversational Devotional today centers on the Song of Moses. Brian and Kevin discuss this perhaps skipped over chapter in Exodus. The Israelites are celebrating their escape from Pharaoh and the Egyptians and praising God. What a weight that must have been lifted off their shoulders!

I love this reading and conversation simply because we’ve had such heavy and detailed readings/discussions these past few days and this one just let us pause and rest. I almost felt like I could take a little breather and just celebrate right along with the Israelites.
Also I could tell that Kevin really enjoyed reading this passage and it was a joy to listen to him.
This song reminds me of all the OT history where God has triumphed over the enemies of His people, not the least of which is the crossing of the Red Sea. In fact, this defeat is MOST dramatic of all of them. In other cases, God’s people were told where to go and when to arm up and fight, but in this case, God does it all gloriously.
It is a “now and not-yet” salvation message forward looking to Jesus and to when God destroys the enemies of His people now living and at the end of time. I imagine we all will be singing this song at the end of our days at the Return of our Lord.
