On today’s podcast Brian and Kevin welcome guest Pastor Andy Gimbel. We are introduced to Joshua during the reading and discussion today. The Israelites face not just physical needs as they wander but also threats from other people in the land. They war against the Amalekites, and we see how Moses needs the support of Aaron and Hur to prevail in the battle. Again one man cannot do it alone.

Amalek I think, was Esau’s grandson and his people are always hostile to Israel. The jealousy goes on!
Moses seems to speak out of both sides of his mouth when he wants them to remember the Amalekites and yet the Lord “will blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven!” We know they were ultimately wiped out down the road, but could it be God’s Grace that allowed them to continue and that, of course, He foreknew that they would be gone? Interesting…..It’s kind of like when God said He would harden Pharaoh’s heart but only after Pharaoh, had been given a few chances to let His people go.
I will say the answers are in there somewhere but you guys always make me think.
