Brian welcomes Pastor Gimbel, Isaac Conrad, and Pastor Meyer to discuss the ‘Christmas passage’ from Isaiah 7 on today’s episode. The guys offer a little background knowledge on the characters in this passage before they dive into the discussion. We then jump right to the sign of “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” The debate is on, how do we translate this prophecy and connect it to Jesus? And what a prophecy it is! Listen in as the guys offer their different viewpoints, and nerd out a little in the process.

So first of all the added intro and outro music is awesome! Second I wanted to give some shout outs to you guys. Not just in this episode, but in others you’ve done for this season, I am very comforted by how you all draw on your own experiences and feelings. I mean you aren’t laying down specifics of your troubles in life, but you have all mentioned in one way or the other that you have hardships and you fall short and if only you could see a sign from God. Thank goodness I’m not alone in that! My brother, my friends, even my pastor share the same shortcomings that I do. Not that I want us all to be flailing around and unsure of what we’re doing in life, but at least we can have some solidarity and possibly lean on each other and pray with each other to help find some clarity. I mean I’m learning about the book of Isaiah as well, but really it’s the deeper conversations and the conversations that are had in addition to the podcast episode with others in the congregation that really get at my heart the most. So great job and keep it up!
Thanks for the feedback, Liz! Credits to Kevin Smith who has been our editor for this series and for getting some cool intro/outro music.
Praise the Lord for the power of His Word strengthening your faith!!!
